On the morning of January 22, our university held the 2021 annual construction work report-back meeting of the College of Modern Automobile Industry. Yan Jianlai, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, and 13 industry experts and scholars from colleges and universities attended the meeting online. President Wang Qi, leaders of relevant departments and colleges of the Liaoning University of Technology and representatives of the Co-construction Party of the College of Modern Automobile Industry attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Huo Chunbao, Executive Deputy Dean of New Energy Vehicle Research Institute.
Wang Qi delivered a welcome speech firstly. He expressed his sincere thanks to the industry experts and scholars from colleges and universities attending the meeting for their attention, support and help to the development of Liaoning University of Technology and the construction of the College of Modern Automobile Industry. Li Gang, Dean of the College of Automobile and Transportation Engineering, made the annual work report of the College of Modern Automobile Industry from three aspects: background and objectives of construction, results of construction, existing problems and deficiencies.
Yan Jianlai said that he was pleased with the work and exploration carried out by Liaoning University of Technology in the construction of the College of Modern Industry, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the “modernity” and “intersection” of the College of Modern Industry. He hoped that the university would adhere to the original intention of dealing with the new round of industrial reform and cultivating “applied” talents; adhere to the cooperation and the in-depth integration between the university and enterprises unswervingly; adhere to the integrated development of multiple disciplines and majors unswervingly; strengthen the foundation of mathematics and accelerate the professional talents training of software engineers and big data engineers.
Enterprise experts from Great Wall Motors, Aerospace Linghe Automobile, Tieling Luping, Wande Group and Aojie Automobile, and scholars from Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tongji University, Northeast University, Hunan University and Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology affirmed the achievements made by the College of Modern Automobile Industry in the past year; put forward a lot of pertinent opinions and suggestions from the aspects of the professional attribute of the College of Modern Industry, improving the cooperation mechanism between the university and enterprises, the dual tutorial system, the integration of undergraduate and master degree, the advancement of cognitive practice, interdisciplinary courses and teaching materials and other aspects; and put forward clear key objectives of construction and suggestions on tasks in combination with the specific task requirements of the construction guidelines of the College of Modern Industry of the Ministry of Education.
The report-back meeting systematically summarized the construction achievements of the College of Modern Automobile Industry of our university in five aspects: faculty construction, base construction, curriculum and textbook construction, talent training and scientific research in the past year, which were fully affirmed by the experts and scholars attending the meeting, marking that the connotation development of the College of Modern Automobile Industry of our university entered a new stage.
