Recently, the final of the Liaoning Provincial Transportation Science and Technology Competition of College Students in 2021 came to an end at Dalian Jiaotong University. The works of our undergraduate students won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 11 third prizes; the works of graduate students won 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 5 third prizes. The quality and quantity of awards reached a record high.
Liaoning Provincial Transportation Science and Technology Competition was hosted by Education Department of Liaoning Province and Finance Department of Liaoning Province, and undertaken by Dalian Jiaotong University in 2021. More than 20 colleges and universities of Liaoning Province signed up for the competition, with more than 200 registered works. After the preliminary evaluation, 131 works reached the final totally. 23 works of our university reached the final.
The participants of this competition were students majoring in relevant disciplines of transportation engineering. The entries focused on the theme of “sharing travel and creating the future intelligently”, and put forward works with novelty, feasibility, practical value, completion and certain innovation according to the specific problems in the transportation system by the use of professional knowledge. The works of undergraduate track were evaluated from four aspects: innovation, comprehensive application of professional knowledge, practical value and completion. On this basis, the works of graduate track also reflected the academic nature of the works, the scientific rigor of theoretical methods and the systematicness of the work scheme. The scientific spirit, scientific literacy, the ability to find out and solve problems, and the spirit of teamwork of college students were cultivated through this competition. The development of transportation science and technology was promoted.
