On November 28, our university organized a team to participate in the preliminary contest of the 12th National College Mathematics Competition. Thirty-six universities of Liaoning Province participated in the competition. On December 9, Liaoning Provincial Mathematics Association announced the preliminary results of the 12th National College Students' Mathematics Competition. 121 of our students participated won prizes, among which 35 won the national first prize, 26 won the national second prize, 37 won the national third prize and 36 won the provincial third prize. This is the highest quantity and quality of awards since our school started to participate in the mathematics competition. The results were among the best in Liaoning universities.
In total, 196 students participated in the competition. Among them, 192 were non mathematics majors and 4 were mathematics majors. After more than one month of training tutored by 5 teachers from College of Science, they participated in the competition. This time, our university organized a team to participate in the 12th National Undergraduate Mathematics Competition, which was sponsored by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of our university and undertaken by the College of Science. This activity has been highly valued by the leaders of our university, strongly supported by various colleges, and has achieved good results.
Through this competition, students' enthusiasm for learning mathematics was further stimulated, which laid a mathematical foundation for students to get master's degree, and also reflected the mathematics teaching level of our teachers.
